Mittweida Workshop on Computational Intelligence (MiWoCI)
18. Mittweida Workshop for Computational Intelligence
Already for the 18th time, the Mittweida Workshop in Computational Intelligence (MiWoCI) will take place at our university from 26. to 28. August 2026. It is organized by the SICIM under the direction of Prof. Villmann.
Following in the tradition of showcasing the latest trends and developments in machine learning for data analysis and visualisation, MiWoCI focuses on prototype-based models such as Learning Vector Quantisation methods and Self-Organising Maps, although this is not exclusive.
The workshop will focus on new theoretical models, problem solutions and interesting applications in areas such as bioinformatics, forensics, medicine and automotive assistance systems. Topics may include handling large amounts of data and transfer learning. A key feature of MiWoCI is encouraging young researchers to present and discuss their results with other young scientists, as well as experienced researchers from the field.
Speakers can present their work in 15-minute talks. The deadline for submitting a 1–2 page abstract or summary is 02/08/2026. You can download the template here. The workshop fee is 150€ for university members / 300€ industrie.
