Recognition of achievements

We honour your commitment to civil society!

A special offer is the recognition of civic engagement and a great thirst for knowledge in two senses - as a creditable achievement (in ECTS) and, if you like, as an achievement for social capital formation. After all, key qualifications are not only acquired in the seminar room, but where they are needed most of all: in the centre of social life.

Recognition of examination results from other universities

The GENERAL STUDIES programme focuses on broadening your horizons and developing your personality - not on imparting specialist knowledge. We therefore always recommend that you take part in our course programme, even if you have already attended courses to acquire key skills at another university or university of applied sciences. Nevertheless, it is still possible to have credits you have already earned recognised.

The prerequisites are that the coursework is compatible with theObjectives of GENERAL STUDIES at Hochschule Mittweida nd that the scope and the examination meet at least the requirements specified in the study/examination regulations of the respective degree programme. We require the following documents from you:

  • Module (name/module number) of your current study regulations,
  • Course/module description of the other university of applied sciences/university and
  • Grade transcript showing that you have passed the course/module.

Please bring these documents to us together with the completed Form for the recognition of credits after registration. The requirements for recognition will then always be checked by us on a case-by-case basis and will only be issued for this individual case! Please note that ‘study achievements, examination achievements and credit points can no longer be credited towards an examination achievement once you have registered for it.’ (SOPO §26, para.5)
