Christina Lucas, M.Sc.

After completing my Master's degree in Biology/Anthropology at the University of Göttingen, I worked as a lecturer for special tasks at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences from 2018 to 2021 in the General and Digital Forensics programme and taught in seminars and practical courses in General Forensics I-III. From 2021 to 2023, I was involved in the MINT KomPass project and, in addition to teaching activities in general forensics, I also took on the How to Study module. The module is located in the introductory phase of studies and includes preventive offers to prevent students from dropping out. It is aimed at first-semester students on the General and Digital Forensics degree programme and is designed to make it easier for them to start their studies. Content on scientific ethics, critical thinking and time management is taught, especially scientific writing and working.

I also organised summer schools for STEM students as part of the project. Here, students from all STEM degree programmes at the university were able to take part in various internships in the fields of computer science and laboratory work. Since 2024, I have been part of the IKKS team through the ESF+ project ‘Arriving - Empowering - Networking - Women's Academic Success’. My focus continues to be on the How to Study module and the targeted further development of teaching for specific target groups, taking gender-sensitive aspects into account. This is an important step towards promoting equal opportunities and inclusion in the education system.
