... as well as the basic forms of oral and written professional communication (telephoning, emailing, cover letters etc.) will be dealt with comprehensively.

The necessary terminology and vocabulary is acquired/introduced, trained in controlled settings and then applied in a wide range of scenarios. Grammar structures that are central to Business English are re-activated and practiced in order to promote confident and low-error usage.

Receiving guidance from the course instructor, students independently research, process and discuss information on degree-course-related topics and finally perform group presentations followed by discussions before / with the course group This counts as Prüfungsvorleistung (exam prerequisite).

Form of instruction: seminar/training

Attendance-based classes: 4 SWS (45-minute periods per week)

Form of assessment: oral presentation (in-class, exam prerequisite) AND written exam (during exam period)                                                                 

Requirements: No previous knowledge of Business English is required. Students should have a general English proficiency at B1 level of the CEFRL.
