Cultural Communication I

In this module, students expand their foreign language skills in academic and professional contexts. Students practise their skills in writing job applications, giving presentations in academic contexts and leading discussions in English.
Upon completion of the module, students will be able to use the foreign language to...
- analyse job advertisements and internship postings and create targeted application documents (CV, video application);
- introduce themselves professionally at career fairs and in elevator pitches;
- structure presentations, deliver them effectively and appropriately incorporate academic sources;
- describe trends accurately and lead fact-based discussions on current topics;
- moderate discussions and debates effectively and deal diplomatically with controversial opinions.
Teaching format: Practical/face-to-face course (4 hours per week) with (online) self-study units
Assessment:
- written preliminary examination/"Testat" (computer pools)
- presentation followed by discussion
